A Basic MFR information
▾Header (letterhead) — Squadron, Wing & Installation
Optional identifiers & markings
B References
▾No references? Leave this empty — the Reference line simply won’t print. Two or more references are lettered (a), (b), (c); cite them in the body as “reference (a)”. Reference dates use the same date picker as the MFR date and print in the global date style.
C MFR body
▾Paragraphs number automatically: 1. → a. → (1) → (a). Tag each paragraph’s purpose (Purpose, Facts, Background, Discussion, Decision, Recommendation, Action items, Point of contact). “✦ AF Style” rewrites a paragraph into formal Air Force English without changing any fact.
D Attachments
▾List attachments in the order they’re mentioned in the body. Attachment dates use the same date picker as the MFR date and print in the global date style.
E Signature block(s)
▾One or more signers, military or civilian. With two signers, T&Q dual-signature rules apply: the junior official (Signer 2) prints at the left margin and the senior official (Signer 1) at 4.5″. The Word export always leaves blank signature space; the PDF export adds an Adobe-compatible digital-signature field per signer (Signature_Field_1, Signature_Field_2, …).
F Endorsements (optional)
▾The Tongue and Quill indorsement format: “1st Ind, ORG/SYMBOL” with the date at the right margin, an optional MEMORANDUM FOR line, the endorsement text, and its own signature block. Endorsement dates use the same picker and global date style as the MFR date.
